Food, Fueling & Music Update: Mammoth High Sierra Fall Century & Gran Fondo - Top-Ten Century Bike Rides and Gran Fondos
First, registrations are trending at least 50% ahead of 2012 so we are expecting a great turnout...and we had a great turnout in 2012!
Second, we'll have a complimentary coffee station at the Fondo and Century starting area at The Village in Mammoth. We'll also have 6 great rest stops with all of the usual stuff you'd expect like freshly cut fruit, snacks like bagels and creme cheese or PB&J sandwiches, water, electrolyte drink mix, energy gels, cola, etc., plus...each rest stop will be sporting a unique musical theme like Jimmy Buffet/Island, Disco, Classic Rock, Country, Hippies or 1980's and each rest stop will have a unique signature snack like cinnamon rolls & coffee at the first morning stop and...well, we'll let you find out about the other great snacks when you get there!
We'll have a light lunch at the mid-way "Black Lake" rest stop that will include "Three-Foot Long Sandwiches" and a special treat. Fondo, Century and 60 Mile riders will all get to enjoy the Black Lake rest stop.
YOU WILL BE HUNGRY when you're done with your ride so....that's why we are all gathering for the "after-ride party and gourmet buffet-meal at The Village in Mammoth. We don't want to give too much away now, but two of Mammoth's finest and arguably, world-famous chefs, will be preparing your gourmet buffet-meal. Our two culinary all-stars are Chefs Matt Toomey and Frederic Pierrel. If you know anything about food in Mammoth and Mono County, you know about these guys. To say the least, we think you'll be happy with your post-ride meal!
