"THE ROAD TO THE FALL CENTURY" PRESENTATION
Start: 06/12/2013 6:00 pm
End: 06/12/2013 8:00 pm
Eastside Velo has many events which can become part of your training program to complete, or excel in, the 2013 High Sierra Fall Century and Gran Fondo. Piecing together club rides to gradually tackle longer and more demanding rides can prepare you for the Fall century September 7th. Part of this preparation is understanding your current physical condition and we have a presentation from the Mammoth Hospital SPORT Clinic coming up that will be of interest to you.
VO2 Max Test: Wednesday June 12 at 6:00 at the SPORT Clinic, Mammoth Hospital.
Sara Morra and Tim Tollefson will present a session using Trisha Moyer of our ESV Women’s Race Team doing a VO2 Max test. (VO2 max, also maximal oxygen consumption, maximal oxygen uptake, peak oxygen uptake or maximal aerobic capacity is the maximum capacity of an individual's body to transport and use oxygen during incremental exercise, which reflects the physical fitness of the individual. The name is derived from V - volume, O2- oxygen, max – maximum)
We hope to have a big crowd to cheer on Trisha, who will ride a stationary bike hooked up to testing equipment to the point of exhaustion. Sara and Tim will analyze the data for the group, and come up with a training program for her to achieve a personal best in the Fall Century this year! Some information on Lactate Acid threshold testing will be given as well. Mammoth Hospital SPORT Clinic is a sponsor of Eastside Velo, and they offer our members a deal on this type of testing procedure. Come along and see what it’s all about and provide moral support for our racing team at the same time. Sara’s contact is 760-709-2005.
