PRE-EVENT GROUP RIDES

We are excited to offer a ton of great pre event rides and activities. All of these events are free and we hope that you can join us in one or all!  Come up to Mammoth early and enjoy a week of amazing fun in the Eastern Sierra.

All pre-event group rides are hosted by local organizations and Mammoth Gran Fondo sponsors:

All rides will start and finish at Footloose Sports

Local Training Rides: Acclimate Where the Locals Ride!

The rides listed below are some of our favorite local rides that start and end in Mammoth Lakes - check them out in addition to the hosted Pre and Post Rides associated with the Gran Fondo. 

Mammoth Lakes to Watterson Summit & Back (51.5 Miles/2,422ft Gain)
This is a wonderful ride that features moderate climbing and lovely scenery. Much of it travels on the route for the Mammoth Gran Fondo.

Mammoth Lakes to June Lake & Back (59.1 Miles/4,613ft Gain)
Just north of Mammoth Lakes is the village of June Lake (The Switzerland of California). The loop offers amazing scenery and rolling terrain. This ride goes from Mammoth and utilizes the Scenic Loop and portions of 395. One not to miss!

Mammoth Gran Fondo Prep Ride (19 Miles/1,121ft Gain)
Looking for a short spin the day before the Fondo or a cool down? This one is a great 20 mile option!

Mammoth to Rock Creek & Back (64.4 Miles/5,522ft Gain)
If you are in Mammoth early be sure to check this one out for some great climbing up to the top of California's Highest Paved Road!
