ABOUT MAMMOTH LAKES

Welcome to Mammoth Lakes! Besides the Eastern Sierra being home to some of the most fantastic and challenging cycling in the country, we are also home to some of the best hiking, fishing, snow sports, and more. Check out the information below for a listing of great activities for you and your support crew (aka family) to check out while you are in the area.

If you are planning to drive to Mammoth Lakes and pass through Yosemite, it is worth noting that Yosemite has changed their policies around "driving through" the park - they now require a reservation during certain times of the year.

WEATHER IN THE MAMMOTH LAKES AREA
Fall weather in the Eastern High Sierra is unpredictable. Fall days are generally sunny and mild, with temperatures in the 70s, but mornings can be cool. Wind, rain, or snow are all possible. Dress in layers that can be removed as the day warms up, bring sunblock and be prepared for any weather conditions.

Remember, the altitude of the ride will range from 6,000 to over 8,900 feet above sea level, so plan on spending at least one day before the ride at this elevation.
